ABOUT Future You

Growing up in a large family, there are many memories that I have learned to appreciate. One of which was attending my last year at Freeport High School. Although my family and I moved around a lot, I was still able to maintain a 3.4 GPA, yet I was not able to apply to a school because I knew nothing about the process. The teachers and guidance counselors at the time never went out of their way to sit and discuss with me what my future plans were and how to go about preparing for them. No one asked me about college, nor made sure I knew how to apply, or even told me that there were options such as scholarships or financial aid available to me.

Gift of Giving Foundation – has started a scholarship fund.

The Future You scholarship program will assist students with not only applying for free application for federal student aid (FAFSA), but will help to provide scholarships, as well as offer information on how to join the college tours, zoom meeting with some of the fraternities for advice, and guidance on how to sign up for community services that might assist with career and college opportunities.
